Volunteering at the Niagara Regional Native Centre's 10th Annual Nurturing Our Roots Traditional Pow Wow is a ​unique opportunity to connect with the community, support Indigenous culture, and contribute to an event that ​celebrates our rich heritage. Whether you’re greeting guests, assisting performers, or helping behind the scenes, ​your involvement will be vital to making this celebration a success. Step up, get involved, and experience the joy ​of giving back – we can’t wait to have you on our team!

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Niagara Regional Native Centre's 10th Annual Nurturing ​Our Roots Traditional Pow Wow. We welcome volunteers from grade 9 and up. Volunteer shifts are ​available as follows: full day from 8am to 8pm, 8am to 12pm, 12pm to 4pm, and 4pm to 8pm. Your ​responsibilities may include tasks such as greeting attendees, assisting the MC, supporting dancers ​and drummers, helping in the dance arena, assisting vendors, and contributing to set-up and clean-up ​efforts.

Volunteer applications are now closed

Volunteers will be required to attend a Volunteer Training Session prior to the event.

This session is mandatory and will take place between the hours of 5:00pm-8:00pm on September 25th, 2024

The Niagara Regional Native Centre's 10th Annual Nurturing Our Roots Traditional Pow Wow is a family-​oriented gathering. Our goal is to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all attendees, free from ​drugs, alcohol, harassment, abuse, and any form of discrimination. All drugs and alcohol are strictly ​prohibited. Your cooperation ensures that everyone can enjoy the event in a respectful and secure ​atmosphere.

Please note that media representatives will be present during this event, and photos or videos may be ​taken. By attending, you consent to the possibility of appearing in event-related media coverage. If you ​prefer not to be photographed, please inform the event organizers upon arrival. Thank you for your ​understanding. The Niagara Regional Native Centre and the Meridian Centre will not be held responsible ​for any accidents or injuries sustained while on the premises or while participating in the Powwow that ​may occur through negligence by the individual, spectators, friends or relatives.
